If WhenIsBins is difficult to use, we want to know.

Email hello@whenisbins.com, or use the feedback form. Tell us which page or task caused a problem and what would help. You do not need to send medical information. We cannot promise a response time.

Using the website

• You can use the main lookup forms and council links without JavaScript.
• Use the keyboard to follow links and complete forms. The first link skips to the main content, and focused controls have a visible outline.
• You can enlarge text and use a narrow screen. Collection information includes written labels; bin colours are not the only way we explain a collection.
• Form errors link to the field that needs attention. If a lookup cannot finish, the page explains the next available step.

What we checked

On 23 September 2026 we checked keyboard focus, form labels and errors, narrow-screen layout at 320 pixels, enlarged text and the main text and button colour contrasts using a local copy of the site in Chromium. We checked the homepage, council directory, a council page, information pages and sample collection results. Automated journey tests also cover forms with JavaScript turned off.

Known limits

These checks are not a full accessibility audit. We have not completed testing with people using screen readers or other assistive technology. Printable PDFs and the St Mary’s collection map have not had a full accessibility review. Use the collection information on the web page, or contact us if you need help with another format.

Council reporting forms and other websites linked from WhenIsBins have their own accessibility arrangements. If a council form is difficult to use, contact that council’s collection service.
